Our program trains postdocs to provide collaborative, integrated care with an emphasis on culturally appropriate and social justice oriented interventions. Our program entails clinical work with diverse client populations in a group practice setting. Trainees will simultaneously manage a psychotherapy caseload while gaining experience with the administrative and business aspects of running a private practice. Training and supervision will be provided on how to continue to grow as a professional, build a caseload, and expand a private practice. One-on-one supervision and group consultation will support the trainee as he/she/they navigate the training program. Satisfactory completion of this postdoctoral training program meets postdoctoral supervised practice requirements for Texas licensure.
Our company values include community/connectedness, equitability, inclusivity, empowerment, transparency, safety, and kindness. LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC clinicians are strongly encouraged to apply.
Our postdoctoral training program broadly focuses on the following objectives:
Consolidate core psychology competencies including the professional values and attitudes, theoretical knowledge, and applied skills for work with a broad range of client issues and problems. Additionally, trainees will gain understanding of the role that power dynamics can play in psychological practice.
Promote and integrate knowledge, awareness, appreciation, and skills for work with diverse populations, including self-examination and exploration of attitudes toward age, immigration status, gender identity, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, language, and socioeconomic status differences.
Consolidate knowledge, understanding and application of ethical principles and practices as it relates to social justice and clinical work, including knowledge of laws and regulations as well as the awareness of challenges, recent developments and trends in the field of psychology and its relationship to the larger socio-political system.
Develop a professional identity as a psychologist, including self-identity from student to professional, ability to identify theoretical orientation, and how to implement a sustainable practice including burnout prevention and self care.
